BURIAL RECORDS |
These pages contain the records of burials
in the grounds of St Peters Church Maxey, based on a survey
of inscriptions on headstones by W. D. Sweeting, Vicar of St. Peters,
1881-1901, plus the deaths in the current register. The dates
in the far right column of the archives are either the date of death or the date
of burial. I am including where possible the inscriptions on
the headstones as recorded by Rev. Sweeting, or taken from later but legible
headstones in the Churchyard. Please note that this is a laborious task and will
take some time to complete. The author of this site accepts no responsibility for any inaccuracies.
Please note that these names
are not an exhaustive record of burials in the churchyard. For
access to all the archived material please visit the website
Northamptonshire Records Office
or contact them via Email
archivist@northamptonshire.gov.uk
Why not
visit them at Wootton Hall
Park, Northampton. They have records of burials, baptisms,
marriages, births and deaths
for St. Peters going back many years.
You can now view a schematic Excel file of the Churchyard which lists all the headstone positions and who is interred in which plot. All the headstones are included. With the Excel file the details of interments and reservations are included in the comments box for each record. Unfortunately a few are illegible but I am endeavouring to discover who the interred might be.
